Abstract

The study examines the Influence of Retail Structure on the Patronage of Modern Retail Formats in Lagos Metropolis, Lagos State. The study adopted a survey design to obtain the opinions of respondents on patronage issues. A total of 580 structured questionnaires are administered to patronizers of modern retail formats chosen for the study at Point of Sales Terminals (POS) via accidental sampling, out of which 500 are duly filled and returned. Regression statistical tool analyzes the data for the study. Findings reveal that retail structure determines retail patronage. It equally reveals that retail structure has a positive relationship with its patronage. The study recommends that retail structure should not be taken for granted, rather it should be studied and identified as consumers choice of retail outlets is based on it.
